So for the rest of you ... in brief, BlendKit 2016 is a MOOC which provides training on how to design a blended learning course. If you are interested in the entire BlendKit Tool Kit, because this is bigger than a single course, visit the BlendKit website. As part of the course requirements I am blogging about my experiences with and reflections on the course. Enjoy!
Reflecting on the 1st week's reading ...Something so exciting happened when I went to get the textbook ('went' as in clicked the link to the readings). I was able to download the text onto my Kindle. Did you hear that? I. Got. It. On. My. Kindle. (For you newbies, that's my Captain Kirk voice. I use it when something is particularly worthy of attention.) |
sI am not new to blended learning. I designed what I think is a fabulous blended learning course on learner motivation. Other people must think its fabulous too because I won an award for it. (Stretching out that 3 minutes of fame as much as I can.) Since I have experience with the topic, what I found the most engaging about the chapter was the second case study. I could relate. I can't tell you the woman's name, where she taught or any other personal details, but I feel like I know her and her course. Her experiences are now part of my "blended learning schema" and that will be useful to me. | At this early stage I've already decided my project for BlendKit 2016 is to revise my Hurricane Preparedness Course and adapt it to blended learning. If you have looked at that website you'll see that it's got issues. Something happened when Weebly changed their format or I messed it up or Scotty scrambled it in a transporter malfunction. (Let's go with Scotty's fault because it certainly couldn't have been me.) It has to be fixed anyway so I've decided to completely revamp it as a blended learning course. |
