It is composed of extraordinarily talented and welcoming individuals that have a positive impact on the international instructional design community. The organization unites ID professionals across geographic and theoretical borders. The 'theoretical' part is possibly the greatest accomplishment -- we all have different BBQ recipes, we each think ours is best, but we still cook cooperatively in the same kitchen.
I now feel that it is time to contribute to AECT on a more committed level -- committed in the sense of significantly contributing to AECT's goals, not the straight jacket and padded room variety.
My good friend and colleague, Nikisha Watson, is running for the position of Graduate Student Representative in the Research and Theory Division.
